This lovely pair of Swedish arm chairs were likely from a Swedish farm house. The two armchairs have been painted white and lightly scraped creating a nice contrast with the darker wood beneath. The chairs with beautifully curved backs and arms and a baluster shaped back spalt with keyholes are typical of Gustavian style. The cabriolet legs are connected with three simply carved stretchers. We recently added the Belgian linen cushions that are trimmed in a flange and attach to the chair with charming ties.
