Antique French Zinc Clock, Paul Garnier, Hger Mcien de la Marine
An antique French wall clock. Made of zinc the 6.25″ diameter white enamel clock face has black roman numerals to mark the time and the makers name, Paul Garnier, Hger McIen de la Marine, an abbreviation of “Horloger Mechanicien de la Marine” or “Clockmaker and Mechanic to the Navy”. Part of the enamel is missing from the face leaving Paris visible. Although missing one hand this clock is beautiful as is or could be restored to a working clock. Paul Garnier (1801-1870) was a famous French clock maker worked in Paris during the first half of the 19th century.
